About the Role
The Solutions Architect is a customer-facing technical team member who designs and communicates scalable solutions across Bonterra’s social impact technology platforms. This role partners closely with Sales to support opportunities by aiding in discovery, architecting solutions that reflect real-world nonprofit, public sector, and corporate social responsibility workflows, and delivering compelling, outcomes-driven demonstrations.
Essential Functions
Pre-Sales Solution Design
Aid in technical discovery to understand customer programs, compliance requirements, reporting obligations, and operational constraints
Design end-to-end solutions leveraging Bonterra products, configuration options, data models, and integrations
Translate customer requirements into clear, defensible solution designs aligned to Bonterra best practices
Identify risks, assumptions, and gaps early — and surface them proactively to Sales and stakeholders
Product Demonstrations & Customer Engagement
Deliver tailored demonstrations of Bonterra products and solutions based on customer use cases
Adjust messaging and depth for different audiences, including program staff, compliance teams, IT, and executive sponsors
Confidently address technical objections
Sales Partnership & Deal Support
Partner with Account Executives to shape deal strategy, solution approach, and win themes
Support RFP responses, technical narratives, and solution sections with accuracy and clarity
Help qualify opportunities by assessing product fit, complexity, and implementation readiness
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Implementation and Customer Success to ensure solution designs are deliverable and supportable
Provide structured feedback to Product based on recurring customer needs and market patterns
Contribute to internal solution templates, demo assets, and reusable architectures

Required Minimum Qualifications
1-5 years of experience in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role
Experience supporting SaaS sales cycles preferably in nonprofit, public sector, healthcare, education, or CSR contexts
Strong understanding of configurable platforms, data models, workflows, and integrations (APIs, imports/exports)
Proven ability to lead discovery, design solutions, and present to external stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort working in ambiguity and navigating evolving product and customer needs
Preferred Qualifications
Prior or current experience working in nonprofit, public sector or corporate social responsibility roles.
Familiarity with Cloud Architecture, CRM, demo automation, or RFP tools (e.g., Loopio, Consensus)
Interest in progressing toward Solutions Architecture senior and enterprise level Solution Architecture roles
Travel Requirement: Up to 10% of the time.
