What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Global Accounting and Shared Services to lead our corporate accounting team in managing and overseeing the global financial consolidation process. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our consolidated financial statements while complying with international accounting standards. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of managing complex financial consolidation processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Consolidation and Intercompany Process Leadership:
    • Lead the end-to-end global financial consolidation process, including the preparation, review, and analysis of consolidated financial statements.
    • Establish and maintain intercompany reconciliations ensuring appropriate financial statement consolidations.
    • Manage transfer pricing, intercompany agreements, and execute intercompany funding requests.
    • Drive accounting activities as it relates to Vacasa’s non U.S. initiatives including, but not limited to entity wind down/dissolution and establishment of new entities and associated accounting practices.
  • Technical Accounting Expertise:
    • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions, such as acquisitions, divestitures, intercompany agreement, transfer pricing, and foreign currency translation.
    • Oversee the preparation of financial schedules, disclosures, and footnotes to accompany the consolidated financial statements pertaining to international subsidiaries.
  • Local Operations Support:
    • Oversee field operations accounting support for non U.S. operations.
    • Global support strategy and vendor rationalization for non U.S. entities.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the consolidation process, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.
    • Implement realignment of international entity processes where necessary.
  • Team Management and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of global accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Current team consists of full-time and outsourced accounting teams in Canada, LATAM, New Zealand, Czech Republic, and Europe.
    • Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Other:
    • Work closely with external auditors during quarterly and annual audits to address audit inquiries, provide documentation, and ensure a smooth audit process.
    • Manage the preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit queries related to the consolidated financial statements.

The Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Big 4 audit or public company experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, FloQast, and Coupa is a plus.
  • Experience working across global subsidiaries and managing global intercompany financial arrangements.
  • Experience with establishing foreign entities, intercompany agreements, transfer pricing, and foreign currency accounting.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
