The Job
The Software Developer is a technical hands-on role with an emphasis on delivering quality code as an individual contributor.What You’ll Do
We're looking for an Intermediate PHP Developer to join one of our feature development teams. This is a web development role focused on building and maintaining features in a large-scale PHP application. You'll be working alongside senior and junior engineers in a collaborative team environment.
You’ll contribute across the full development lifecycle, participate in Scrum ceremonies, and collaborate closely with product and engineering team members to deliver high-quality, well-tested features.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build and enhance product features across a mixed legacy PHP and Symfony codebase, so should be able to comfortably navigate both
Contribute to unit-tested, maintainable, and scalable code
Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Help guide junior developers through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
Collaborate with product owners, designers, and QA to understand and deliver requirements
Assist in modernizing legacy code and improving system architecture over time
What We’re Looking For
Solid experience with PHP and object-oriented programming
Strong knowledge of the Symfony framework
Proficient with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Good knowledge of PostgreSQL — able to write efficient, performant queries
Comfortable working with and refactoring legacy PHP code
Good understanding of unit testing and writing testable code
Ability to produce high-quality code with minimal guidance
Able to participate in technical solution discussions and occasionally own the solution design
Regularly contribute to code reviews with a mindset of continuous improvement
Experience working in Scrum or Agile development teams
Strong communication and collaboration skills — you’ll work closely within a cross-functional team
Willingness and ability to mentor junior developers
What You’ll Bring
Experience with Angular or other frontend frameworks
Familiarity with AWS serverless services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
Familiarity with REST APIs and modern API integration patterns
Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, or related tooling
