Security Journey is on a mission to reduce software vulnerabilities through education. We’re looking for an experienced Content Developer – AppSec/Cybersecurity Education to join our content team and help create high-impact, hands-on lessons that teach developers how to think like attackers and build secure software.

The ideal candidate has strong software development experience and a passion for application security, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences. You’ll be hands-on with code daily, turning your ideas into interactive, developer-friendly lessons. If you’re passionate about software security and want to help other engineers level up their skills, we’d love to talk.

💼 What You’ll Do

  • This is a software development role—you will be building and maintaining hands-on secure coding lessons by writing real code, not just editing text.
  • Help define and maintain our secure coding training roadmap, ensuring our curriculum remains relevant and aligned with industry standards.
  • Use your creativity and coding skills to engage learners by programming immersive lessons and CTFs in various languages and frameworks.
  • Design and develop interactive, code-based learning experiences that teach developers how to write secure software.
  • Update and maintain existing coding challenges, ensuring they remain technically accurate, functional, and impactful.
  • Contribute to internal development tools and CI workflows that support efficient content creation and deployment.
  • Collaborate with the team to influence system architecture and infrastructure decisions as we scale.
  • Champion code quality and security best practices across our entire stack.
✅ What You Bring
  • Experience in information security or application security; formal security education is a plus.
  • Strong programming skills and a willingness to work with multiple technologies.
  • Ability to gain deep understanding of secure coding principles and common software vulnerabilities.
  • Comfortable explaining technical concepts in writing, live sessions, or on video.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
  • A genuine passion for helping developers grow their security knowledge.
  • Unbounded curiosity.
  • Slight preference for candidates based in Eastern Time, since the majority of the team works in that time zone.

🧰 Our Tech Stack

You don’t need to be an expert in everything here, but you should be comfortable learning new tools and working across a modern development stack.

  • Platform / APIs: Python (Flask), Go, Sql DBs, JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, git, github (for CI/CD)

  • Languages We Teach In: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, Java, C#, and others.

🌍 Why Join Security Journey?

We create secure coding lessons that developers actually want to take. Our interactive, hands-on platform helps dev teams build real-world skills, reduce vulnerabilities, and better understand how software gets exploited—and how to defend it.

At Security Journey, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on meaningful, impactful content

  • Shape the future of secure coding education

  • Join a team that values curiosity, clarity, and collaboration

📍 Location & Work Environment
