Reporting to the Director of Product, the Senior Product Manager will balance quantitative and qualitative research to deeply understand both the overall market conditions and our customers' problems, to ensure we are executing successfully on the highest priority initiatives.
They will collaborate cross-departmentally to help guide the success of RocketRez and its SaaS platform, utilize data and consumer research to understand and validate top priorities, conceptualize a strategy, work to define and clarify work packages to be executed upon by a team of developers and designers, and measure success of their initiatives.
A Senior Product Manager is both a tactical and strategic thinker that supports both the more junior product managers, and the Director of Product Management.
Core Responsibilities
- Goal Definition - Curates alignment between engineering team direction and the company’s goals.
- Strategy - Defines and refines the product vision and strategy. Owns product prioritization, including building long-term and short-term product roadmaps that account for product growth targets and industry/customer trends for the vision and strategy. Leads product feature releases, ensuring stakeholder groups understand delivered product value, any product limitations, and the product/feature distribution strategy
- Measure Success - Responsible for growth analysis (revenue) for completed engineering initiatives.
- Communicate to stakeholders - Works with stakeholders to determine key elements of the product - including product growth opportunities/strategies, product pricing, and product-market messaging.
- Mentorship - Provides guidance, mentoring, and support to the rest of the Product Owners / Managers.
- Process Management - Provides oversight to the product feedback and intake process, including prioritization and discovery.
- Platform Advocate - Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure proper product understanding across all functional areas of the organization (marketing, sales, customer launch/support, etc.
- Gather Requirements - Owns product requirements and works with engineering leadership to translate those requirements into work packages.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of the end-customer and the needs of the end-customer.
- Know the market - Responsible for market / competitor analysis, defining product positioning, communicating value proposition, and ensuring proper ICP fit.
- Know the industry - Keeps up to date on industry and competitor trends, utilizing this information in the prioritization cycle.
Key Qualifications
- A history of delivery excellence. You are motivated by getting things across the finish line and have a solid track record of managing projects and multiple priorities at any given time.
- 7+ years of experience in product management for SaaS, B2B and B2C products
- Experience within a fast-paced software development environment
- Empathy towards users and their problems with a passion for building great products
- Experience using data to inform decisions without succumbing to analysis paralysis
- Strong leadership of cross-functional teams with an accent on issue resolution, critical path management and facilitating decision making between project teams and executive team
- Drive issues to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for real-time decision making
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for clearly articulating customer problems
- A strong understanding of user experience and product design
