ROLE PURPOSE
The mission of the CTO is to successfully prioritise and execute the company’s product roadmap by providing organisational and engineering/product management leadership. In doing so, this executive will be responsible for successfully integrating and unifying the platform, as well as the engineering and product management teams.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own engineering and the product roadmap and act as the primary thought leader and visionary for all technology and product areas at Ready Education.
- Refine and evolve a clear and innovative technical roadmap, emphasising scalability, performance, security, compliance, and overall enhancement of the customer experience.
- Bring true leadership and elevated energy to the engineering and product orgs.
- Work closely with the CEO and executive team to ensure support for and alignment around all product/engineering activities.
- Drive technical decisions, execution and be a strategic partner in identifying and evaluating M&A opportunities. Heavy process improvement post-acquisitions including product and team integration.
- Optimise and drive greater efficiency in the technology organisation. Implement and achieve continuous integration and delivery, ensure greater visibility and predictability around processes, QA, etc.
- Increase the velocity, capacity, and scalability of the team. Instil a sense of urgency in the culture, and be a change-agent, optimising the way the team operates. Recruit and retain the “best and brightest” talent.
- Serve as the technology face of the Ready Education executive team both internally and externally, actively building relationships with customers, partners, and industry thought leaders. Evangelise the Ready Education solution and technology platform.
- Serve as a customer advocate in the development process, working closely with customers to deeply understand their needs and anticipate market developments to drive roadmap strategy.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
- Strong alignment with Ready’s culture, as defined by our core values (student success first, accomplish more as a team, have a learning mentality, move fast and innovate)
- SaaS, mobile and full stack experience.
- Success building, leading and growing distributed engineering teams.
- Experience integrating multiple teams, products and technologies via M&A into a shared/common platform.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders (sales, marketing, customers, board, CS…) to develop product roadmaps.
- Strong commercial orientation- proven background of building products and features which drive customer value, high adoption and revenue.
- Proven ability to deliver to committed timelines transparently.
- Global data protection experience (GDPR, FERPA, etc).

Although this role is 100% remote, the person in this position should be expected to travel for certain customer / industry / company events and engagements as necessary.
