Enterprise Systems Architect

You’ll work with a variety of enterprise applications (Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, Greenhouse, Zendesk), integration platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), and Fivetran’s own data pipelines.
- Define and maintain the overarching systems integration architecture, ensuring data flows seamlessly between critical business applications and internally built software.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and platforms to enhance reliability, scalability, and security.
- Establish best practices for integration patterns (real-time vs. batch, event-driven, APIs, etc.).
- Design and drive the implementation of enterprise systems that meet immediate business needs while allowing for long-term growth.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Partner with IT and Security teams to ensure systems and integrations adhere to compliance and governance standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Revenue, Finance, HR, Customer Support, Product, Engineering) to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Architect solutions that automate workflows, eliminate redundancies, and improve data quality and visibility across the organization.
- Balance quick wins with strategic investments, aligning architecture decisions with Fivetran’s business objectives.
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert within the Systems Engineering team.
- Guide high-level architectural decisions, platform selection, and coding best practices for integrations.
- Mentor team members, driving a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain architectural standards, guidelines, and governance processes to ensure consistency across integrations and systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of current and future-state architectures, data flows, and integration points.
- Work with Security and Compliance teams to meet any audit or regulatory requirements.
- Define and track KPIs to measure systems and integrations' performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Use data insights to refine and optimize architecture decisions.
- Provide transparent reporting on integration health, system performance, and improvement initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.
- 8+ years of experience in systems architecture, enterprise integration, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable, high-performing architectures in a late-stage startup or high-growth environment.
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects involving diverse stakeholders and complex technical requirements.
- A natural problem solver with a solution-oriented mindset, adept at balancing people, processes, and technology.
- Strong ability to evaluate software tools, platforms, and best practices that align with business scalability needs.
- Proficiency in API design, integration frameworks (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo), and data modeling.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with SQL, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams to define and implement large-scale solutions.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify long-term opportunities and risks.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs between short-term gains and long-term objectives.
- Aptitude to communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of driving alignment across multiple teams.
- Ability to lead through influence, guiding teams toward best-fit solutions without direct authority.
- Experience building partnerships with external vendors, third-party consultants, and industry thought leaders.
- Software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with iPaaS solutions (e.g., Workato, SnapLogic) or Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML capabilities to augment data-driven automation.
- Knowledge of public company compliance requirements and governance controls.
- Experience with enterprise-level CRM (Salesforce) and ERP (NetSuite) ecosystems.
