- Experience in building and managing an engineering team of 5 or more members comprising individual contributors with varying experience levels.
- Experience in performance engineering. This can include writing code to bridge performance gaps, JVM tuning, massive parallelization, profiling, and many other performance engineering techniques.
- Believer in a data-driven approach in strategizing, prioritizing, and driving implementation changes, coordinating with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support
- Proven people management and career development skills.
- Adept at auditing and improving coding practices across the team, ensuring integrity and transparency.
- Ability to collaborate and articulate effectively with technical founders and non-engineering stakeholders.
- A high degree of confidence and level of comfort in discussing low level technical issues, such as CPU utilization and memory management.
- Ability to closely monitor or even complete the hands-on work of senior engineers on the team.
- At least 3+ years of experience working in engineering manager roles.
- Experience in building data pipelines or data processing platforms
- Experience with Enterprise-class databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
- Experience with high scale databases (Spanner, CosmosDB, DynamoDB, Mongo)
- Experience with C/C++ or Go
