The position

Job description

🇫🇷 This is a VIE mission offer (Volontariat International en Entreprise) This position is open exclusively to French citizens aged 18 to 28. A VIE is a professional assignment abroad carried out on behalf of a French company, managed through Business France. It is a fixed-term, full-time commitment in an international setting — a unique opportunity to gain meaningful professional experience while living and working abroad. To apply, candidates must be eligible for the VIE program and registered on the Business France / Mon VIE-VIA platform.

We are looking for a Travel Designer to develop and manage our French-speaking market. Based within our Norway team, you will be the main point of contact for French-speaking travelers from their very first inquiry through to their return home.

This is a destination-first role. You will be responsible for launching and structuring the French market from the ground up — which means real ownership, real impact, and the chance to build something from scratch. If you are energized by the idea of combining deep destination knowledge with genuine human connection, this is where you belong.

💼 Your main missions

✈ Sales & customer support

  • Handle traveler requests coming through the Evaneos platform and provide attentive, personalized responses.

  • Understand each traveler’s expectations, travel style, and specific needs to craft proposals that truly fit.

  • Advise on destinations, cultural context, local experiences, and activities across Norway and the Nordic region.

  • Guide travelers through the full booking journey, from first contact to final confirmation.

📋 Operations & practical management

  • Design tailor-made itineraries that match traveler expectations and budgets, combining accommodation, transport, activities, and insurance.

  • Coordinate bookings with local providers and manage all operational details of each trip.

  • Handle invoicing and billing in line with agency procedures.

  • Contribute to market launch tasks, including translation and adaptation of content into French.

🌟 Customer care & quality during the trip

  • Act as the local point of contact for travelers throughout their journey, ensuring they feel supported at every stage.

  • Monitor trip quality in real time and proactively address any issues that arise.

  • Handle unexpected situations — delays, complaints, cancellations, refunds — with empathy and professionalism.

🌱 Responsible tourism

  • Promote ethical and sustainable travel practices in every experience you design.

  • Recommend local partners and activities aligned with environmental and community responsibility.

  • Help travelers understand and respect the cultural and natural environments they visit.

Preferred experience

✅ Core skills & experience

  • Deep knowledge of Norway and the Nordic destinations is the most important asset — more than a formal background in tourism or sales.

  • A strong ability to listen and understand what travelers are really looking for, beyond what they literally ask for.

  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of a market from the early stages.

  • A genuine commitment to responsible and ethical travel, reflected in how you work and what you recommend.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build trust with clients through written and verbal communication.

💥 Bonus skills

  • Previous experience in tailor-made travel design or customer-facing sales roles.

  • Familiarity with travel booking tools or reservation management platforms.

  • Interest in Nordic culture, outdoor experiences, or sustainable tourism initiatives.

🌐 Languages required

  • French – Fluent (C1 or native)

  • English – Fluent (C1)

  • German – Appreciated as an additional asset

🚫 Non-negotiables

  • French citizenship (required for VIE eligibility)

  • Aged 18 to 28 at the time of application

  • Must not have previously held a VIE contract with the same company
