Platform Engineer
Design, implement and optimise reliable cloud applications in a mission-driven SaaS company. Join Eftsure and make an impact by enabling smarter, safer business payments.
About Eftsure
Eftsure is a fast-scaling SaaS fraud technology platform that protects B2B payments for Australian businesses through real-time vendor verification and payment protection. In a world of evolving cybercrime, our mission is clear: help businesses never pay the wrong people. Our vision? To be the security standard for B2B payments, supporting organisations with smarter, safer ways to transact.
About the Role
Join the team securing the future of digital payments.
At Eftsure, we’re on a mission to be the security standard for B2B payments. Our platform protects Australian businesses against payment fraud and cybercrime in real time.
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to help us build and evolve an internal developer platform that makes it easy for teams to ship secure, reliable software. You’ll work across our AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability stack to create paved roads that improve developer experience, reliability, and speed of delivery.
This role is about enablement as much as engineering. You’ll partner closely with product and engineering teams to design opinionated platform capabilities, uplift observability, and embed good practices into the way we build and run software.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, building, and iterating on internal platform capabilities (e.g. deployment patterns, environment templates, self‑service tooling) that make it easier and safer for teams to ship.
- Uplifting and standardising observability across services (metrics, logs, traces, synthetic checks) so teams get meaningful insights and actionable alerts.
- Managing and evolving Eftsure’s AWS-based infrastructure for resilience, scalability, and security, using infrastructure as code.
- Improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release workflows, enabling safe rollouts (blue/green, canary, feature flags).
- Working with product and engineering teams to design for reliability, embed SLIs/SLOs, and make operational readiness part of delivery.
- Documenting patterns, playbooks, and platform capabilities so teams can self-serve with confidence.
- Keeping an eye on emerging tools and practices in platform engineering, and bringing pragmatic ideas into our environment.
What makes you a great fit
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (ideally AWS) and modern infrastructure practices (infrastructure as code, immutable infrastructure, automated changes).
- Hands-on experience with observability tooling (for example Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, or similar) and an understanding of how to make telemetry useful for developers.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and deployment strategies, and a track record of improving delivery workflows for teams.
- Strong skills in automation and scripting (for example Python, Bash, or similar) to reduce toil and codify repeatable patterns.
- Good grasp of reliability and performance concepts (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, capacity, performance tuning) and how they apply in real systems.
- A collaborative, product-minded approach — you care that internal platforms are discoverable, usable, and adopted, not just technically elegant.
- Clear, empathetic communication and a willingness to work closely with teams to understand their needs and constraints.
- Curiosity, pragmatism, and a continuous-improvement mindset — you’re comfortable iterating and making things a little better every week.
What we offer
- Birthday leave + floating cultural holiday
- A paid day to support a charity of your choice
- $250 annual wellness reimbursement
- Flexible working arrangements
- Training budget for professional development
- A high-impact, fast-growth environment where your work directly helps protect Australian businesses
If you're a cloud engineer who loves building high-performing systems, improving application reliability, and helping teams make better decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
Join us at Eftsure and help build the security standard for B2B payments.
