Your Impact
This position is responsible for interpreting legal material from municipal clients for appropriate handling and placement in a unified document, presenting legal information in an organized format, editing documents for accuracy and style consistency, and preparing legal material for accurate presentation both online and in print. The Supplement Editor has an expert command of the English language. They work methodically and concentrate for long periods and have a strong attention to both pattern and detail. They are proficient with Word and the Microsoft suite of products and are able to learn and apply new technical subject matter quickly. The Supplement Editor has excellent communication skills and regularly and comfortably communicates with both internal and external stakeholders in person, on the phone, via web teleconference, and via email. The Supplement Editor is able to successfully coordinate, prioritize, and complete multiple projects in an environment that is fast paced and deadline-driven.

What You’ll Do
As a Supplement Editor, you will:
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize projects.
  • Edit legal documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Use web coding and authoring systems (HTML, XML) to format legal text for final presentation both in print and online.
  • Interpret legal material for appropriate placement in a unified document.
  • Prepare and present legal information in an organized outline format.
  • Maintain contact with clients through professional communication.
  • Actively participate in departmental and team meetings.
  • Meet or exceed productivity metrics, quality standards, and team expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in proofreading or similar role.
  • Proficient computer and communication skills.
  • Writing, technical editing, and proofreading proficiency
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
  • The ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word is required.
  • Experience with web coding and authoring systems such as HTML / XML and Adobe InDesign is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Estimated Salary Grade Range: $32,000 - $42,200 - Estimated Salary Range
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and is based on a 40-hour work week.
  • Potential Variable Pay: If applicable - Based on set quotas or goals or targets
