Description
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (Contractor) provides a technical and business conduit between the
organization and production environments. This role provides guidance to a group of engineers
to ensure software can be delivered into production with high quality, visibility, and stability.
Ultimately, the SRE is responsible for our production systems running smoothly and working
with our teams to ensure this. The key attributes of interest are sharp problem-solving skills and
a keen interest in learning. As an international company we have data centers in multiple
countries across multiple cloud providers and support many product lines.
This position will require participating in a 24X7 on-call rotation.
Contractor Responsibilities:
- Owns infrastructure across multiple cloud providers in many regions
- Owns incident response plan, processes, and follow up
- Ensures all systems can be monitored
- Ensures all systems can be scaled and creates plans for systems that need further scaling
- Ensure applications meet reliability goals
- Implements and practices disaster recovery plan
- Owns ‘Technical Risk’ backlog and influences delivery team goals
- Participates in and oversees on-call rotation
Contractor Requirements:
Experience
- You have strong communication skills
- You have proven troubleshooting skills
- You have a diligent problem-solving ability
- You understand the SRE Principals
- You enjoy supporting others in a software development organization
- You have experience automating tasks in Python, JavaScript, Bash/Shell, or other scripting languages
- You have experience orchestrating containers
- You have experience working with Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or other cloud providers
