Position Description
The marketing operations team serves as the marketing department’s central nervous system, facilitating the planning, performance management, resource management, and systems/tools and workflow to support the entire customer experience. As the Director of Marketing Operations, you are responsible for strategizing, architecting, and managing the infrastructure that powers our marketing efforts. You lead the team that develops and implements the processes, systems, tools and skills necessary to link marketing to business outcomes, tracks and reports results, and suggests improvement.
As a player-coach, you are equally adept at rolling up your sleeves to tackle hands-on challenges and mentoring your team to excel. You are at the forefront of strategic growth, driven by a commitment to dynamic, tech-savvy, and operationally efficient practices. You are a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and ability to execute a strategic marketing vision.
As a member of the marketing leadership team, you are working to build, evangelize, and deliver a world-class marketing operations function to support our sales and marketing teams. This leadership role works closely with our executive, marketing, sales, and revenue operations teams, and reports to the Senior Director of Marketing. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in marketing operations within a SaaS environment and a passion for creating scalable processes that support revenue growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8–10 years of experience in marketing operations or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in building and scaling marketing operations in a SaaS or high-growth environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Expertise in managing and optimizing marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships across teams.
- Experience developing team members and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
As a Director of Marketing Operations, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing operations professionals to achieve team and company goals.
- Configure, integrate, and optimize the marketing tech stack, focusing on Hubspot, Salesforce, and related technologies, ensuring it supports operational goals and provides accurate, actionable data.
- Drive the adoption of best practices for marketing automation, lead scoring, segmentation, and data hygiene.
- Ensure the marketing automation infrastructure supports effective data collection, tracking, and usage across campaigns and lead management systems.
- Partner with sales and revenue operations teams to align on lead management processes, including MQL, campaign, and conversion tracking.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting from lead to revenue, offering actionable insights on campaign performance, ROI, and channel performance.
- Own and maintain the marketing database, ensuring data quality, proper processes for import, hygiene, segmentation, and utilization.
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows, implementing streamlined solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and data integrity.
- Build and refine dashboards and analytics frameworks to support demand generation and data-driven marketing strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer success teams to analyze trends in segment performance, campaign impact, and customer buying behavior.
- Own the marketing operations budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support strategic priorities.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, tools, and technologies to keep the company’s marketing operations at the cutting edge.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Estimated Salary Grade Range: $135,900 – $209,300
- The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and is based on a 40-hour work week.
- Potential Variable Pay: Bonus
