Role: Content Marketing Manager
Base Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 USD
Description: The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for owning and executing content initiatives across multiple channels, including blogs, ebooks, original research, webinars, customer stories, social media, and PR. This is a highly cross-functional role, collaborating closely with the Integrated Campaign Manager, Customer, Events, and Alliances Manager, Product Marketing Manager, and other teams to create compelling content that attracts, engages, and converts audiences.
We are looking for a strategic thinker and doer, someone who is equal parts creative storyteller and data-driven executor. Successful candidates are passionate about the editorial process, collaborating with others, crafting compelling briefs, data-driven experimentation, and writing.
What you'll do
- Content Strategy & Creation
- Develop and execute a content strategy and calendar that drives awareness, engagement, and conversion across Blackthorn’s ICP (both industry and persona).
- Identify key themes per quarter/half that address trends and/or pain points, coordinating closely with the Integrated Campaign Manager and Product Marketing to ensure we align content to campaign and PMM opportunities.
- Write, edit, and publish engaging content, including blog posts, original research, ebooks, case studies, emails, and ads.
- Optimize content for SEO and lead generation, working closely with the Integrated Campaign Manager, freelancers, and agencies.
- Identify and assign design and video projects to freelancers, build briefs, and manage deliverables and deadlines.
- Develop content strategies for thought leadership webinars, including promotional materials, run-of-show content, and post-event content to extend engagement with prospects and customers.
- Social Media Management
- Own and execute Blackthorn.io’s social media strategy to increase brand visibility and engagement. Identify relevant platforms where our audience is active.
- Create and schedule organic social content, leveraging key marketing campaigns and industry trends.
- Support internal thought leaders to amplify their voices and establish Blackthorn as a leader in event tech.
- Monitor engagement, track performance metrics, and adjust strategy based on data insights.
- Thought Leadership & PR Support
- Develop executive bylines, guest blogs, and speaking engagement content to elevate Blackthorn’s industry presence.
- Collaborate with the SVP of Marketing to identify media opportunities, pitch story ideas, and support press releases.
- Brand Voice and Guidelines
- Work closely with the SVP of Marketing and other stakeholders to maintain Blackthorn’s brand voice and textual guidelines, ensuring consistency across marketing and communication channels.
- AI Champion
- Experiment with and leverage AI tools, including ChatGPT, to drive efficiencies and increase content output.
- Work closely with the SVP of Marketing to implement AI tools for the Marketing team and others to expand impact.
What we look for:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing for a B2B SaaS and/or event technology company.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong portfolio.
- Experience managing social media strategy and engagement for a B2B brand.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and content performance analytics.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple content streams.
- Proficient in leveraging AI to enhance productivity and output.
- Enthusiasm for working as a “team of one” — you enjoy building the strategy as much as creating the content and measuring your impact.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and/or event technology is a plus.

About Blackthorn
We have four native apps on the Salesforce AppExchange for managing Events, collecting Payments, sending Messages, and protecting Data. We’re a growing, distributed team with teammates in countries across the world. We move fast and have a significant structure in our product build process. Everyone on our team has deep experience within their respective roles. Our customers span from 1-person companies to Fortune 500s.
Why is our work important
Our apps continue to be easy to use and setup, due to continuous refinements with our UX. Most apps in our space take weeks to implement; ours take hours, and they work more flexibly, achieving significantly more functionality than our competitors. We believe enterprise apps should be as easy to use as consumer mobile apps.
What the job will bring you
A deep level of satisfaction through ownership of your role. You'll get more autonomy than at other companies (our team has told us). Connection. Our team is tightly knit, assisted through our annual company trip (as we're remote). Challenge. We're trying to move as quick as possible. This is not for you if you want to sit back and chill. As Ray Dalio says about life: "Meaningful work and meaningful relationships" provide meaning to life. We aim to bring this.
