Your Role as a Project Manager Scrum Master:

This position is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. The Project Manager/Scrum Master will be accountable for timely and high-quality execution and delivery of the projects from original concept through final implementation. This position requires working with teams that follow Agile as well as traditional methodologies.

A Day in the Life of a Project Manager Scrum Master:

  • Manage multiple work streams and deliver results in a timely manner; Meticulously follows-up and follows-through issues and actions and drives them to closure in a timely manner; Work closely with the Technical Development team to identify and communicate critical paths
  • Manage and effectively deliver features committed to for the Release Train
  • Supports and educates Product Owner in developing, maintaining and grooming Product Backlog
  • Facilitates Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Product Demos and Sprint Retrospectives; Removes impediments/blockers in order to keep teams productive
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and build schedules and plans; Identifies and manages dependencies with other internal or external teams; Work with the Scrum teams to align deliverables
  • Guides the team on how to get the most out of self-organization
  • Guides the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Handle issues and risks proactively; Rigorous about maintaining Project issue log, risk register, and action items
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Demonstrate excellence in verbal and written skills while communicating the plans, status, and dependencies with various stakeholders; Excellent skills with facilitating meetings and updating the teams on plans and statuses
  • Any other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • First level Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I) is an added advantage
  • Min 3 years’ experience in managing software development projects with 1-year experience playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theories.
  • Experience/ familiar in using JIRA & Confluence and extracting reports from JIRA.
  • Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: Kanban, and FDD
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
