Join the Appspace team and be a part of a culture that’s helping people everywhere love where they work.

Your Role as a DevOps Engineer:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be the primary architect of our delivery engine. Your mission is to empower our engineering teams by building high-performance CI/CD pipelines, automating toil out of existence, and ensuring that software moves from a developer's laptop to production with zero friction. You will work side-by-side with developers to refactor systems for better deployability and integrate modern AI-driven tools to optimize our engineering velocity.

A Day in the Life of a DevOps Engineer:

  • Developer Enablement: Collaborating with development and QA teams to identify bottlenecks in the SDLC and implementing automated solutions to fix them.
  • Developer Experience (DevEx): Building self-service tools that allow developers to provision environments and debug their own deployments independently.
  • Pipeline Engineering: Designing and optimizing complex pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and secure software delivery.
  • Artifact Management: Managing and securing our software supply chain to ensure version consistency and security.
  • Automation & Tooling: Writing robust scripts in PowerShell or Python to automate repetitive tasks and workflows.
  • Kubernetes Integration: Assisting teams in containerizing applications and managing deployments within Kubernetes environments.
  • AI Innovation: Exploring and implementing AI-powered development tools (like GitHub Copilot or automated testing agents) to increase engineering velocity.

What You’ll Need:

  • Communication: Ability to speak "Developer" and "Operations" fluently to bridge the gap between teams.
  • Version Control & Branching Strategies: Deep knowledge of Git and strategies like GitFlow, Trunk-Based Development, or GitHub Flow.
  • SCM: Deep experience with source code services like GitHub or Bitbucket, including repository administration, permissions management, etc.
  • Azure DevOps: Proven experience building YAML-based pipelines, creating reusable YAML templates, managing complex environments, and handling complex release strategies.
  • Engineering-Grade Scripting: Ability to write clean, modular scripting code (PowerShell, Python, NodeJs or Bash) to automate the lifecycle of an application.
  • Artifactory: Experience managing binary repositories (JFrog, Azure Artifacts or similar) and understanding the lifecycle of a software artifact.
  • Orchestration & Packaging: Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestrators and application packaging to manage complex deployments.
  • Docker: Deep experience with containerization—building, optimizing, and securing Docker images is essential for our delivery process.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS and Azure.
  • Reproducible Environments: Experience with Vagrant (or similar tools) to provide developers with standardized local environments, minimizing "environment drift" between local and production.
  • Lifelong Learner: A passion for mastering new systems and technologies rather than just settling for a "quick fix"

Nice to Have:

  • Testing Automation Integration: Proven ability to integrate E2E testing frameworks like Playwright directly into CI/CD pipelines, including managing test artifacts and reporting.
  • Automation Mindset: A background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably with HashiCorp tools (Terraform/Packer).
  • AI/ML Ops: Familiarity with integrating AI tools into the developer workflow to assist with code reviews, testing, or documentation.
  • Data Systems: Understanding of MySQL, MongoDB, or message brokers like RabbitMQ.
  • Secrets Management: Experience with Azure Key Vault or HashiCorp Vault for securing sensitive credentials.
